The weeks are flying by and summer will soon be over. But would you like to keep the feeling of lightness, freedom and endless possibilities for a while longer? I think books are a great way to keep these things alive in your imagination and bring some of them into your everyday life. Below are four feel-good books that I have read or listened to in the last year that have left me feeling positive. Perhaps you too will find a book that will keep your summer feelings alive.
The 4 best feel good books:
1. The Pumpkin Spice Cafe – Laurie Gilmore
Jeanie’s story is set in Dream Harbour. She takes over her aunt’s café. Jeanie is a little overwhelmed at first, as everyone is with new responsibilities. But she soon grows on you. She is supported by the other villagers. Among other things, she gets to know Logan better and better. As they both have to deal with experiences from their past, the question arises whether Jeanie wants to run the café and village life in the long term and whether they can open up to each other. I could really relate to Jeanie and Logan’s insecurities, which made it nice to see the characters grow.
2 New Beginnings – Lilly Lucas
Lena spends her au pair year in the small town of Green Valley in the Rocky Mountains. Ryan, her host father’s younger brother, is recovering from a serious sports accident and is staying with the family. But can the two of them get along, or could they become something more? This is a book about self-discovery and self-confidence.
3 Spring in Blueberry Bay – Holly Martin
On Hope Island, Isaac suddenly appears on Bella’s doorstep. Being the helpful type, she lets him into her house and a spark ignites between them, but what she doesn’t know is that he’s the boss of the company she’s going to interview for next week. Find out in the book how they get out of the situation and whether she gets the job. It is a story about two people standing up for each other and how quickly strong feelings can develop.
4 Skogen Dynasty – Carolin Wahl
Aleksander is a member of the notorious Skogen family, who own a biscuit empire. After a scandalous video, he retires to let the media fuss die down. The trekking tour in Norway, which is supposed to take him out of the public eye for a fortnight, is led by Norah. They get to know each other and the chemistry between them is obvious. But can this chemistry last beyond the two weeks? Because the story takes place over a short period of time, you get a lot of detail and the characters grow very close to you.
I can highly recommend all four books if you want to read positive stories. They are a great way to start reading without having to jump straight into huge fantasy worlds. If you like the books, there is at least one more book in each series. If you know of any other feel-good books, please send them to us using our contact form. Maybe you’ll discover joy in it.
